Garden Tractors

General

  1. JUDGES DECISION WILL BE FINAL ON ANYPOINT OF CONTROVERSY ANY DISAGREEMENTWILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
  2. ANY CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR DRUG USE WILL BE GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION.
  3. Anyone fighting, Using excessive foul language or causing any other problems will be asked to leave the premises.
  4. Track officials have the right to tear down and inspect for anything illegal at owner's expense whether found legal or illegal. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you refuse you will be banned until you prove you are legal.
  5. Flagman and sled operator are in charge of track at all times. Track official may be questioned if there is a problem.
  6. Pulling order will be determined by a lottery draw.
  7. No tractors may be left running unattended.
  8. All drivers must pay attention to flagman anyone thought to be digging excessive holes will be disqualified.
  9. All tractors found to have a fuel leak will not be allowed to pull until problem is determined fixed by track official.
  10. All tractors must have registration numbers on front or left side.
  11. All drivers must wear a helmet. Helmets must be D.O.T. approved,no throwing helmet keep it until you get to your pits.
  12. No jerking the sled all pulls must be started from a tight chain. If sled operator thinks driver is doing this on purpose thedriver will be disqualified.
  13. Pulls are open to lawn and garden tractors. Must be rear wheel drive with rubber tires. All power must be transmitted through rear wheels. No duals or chains.
  14. All tractors must be operated in a safe manner on and off of the track. Registered drivers are to be the only person operating the tractor. Anyone HOT RODDING will be asked to leave the premises.
  15. No mower decks.
  16. No riders allowed on tractors at any time.
  17. All drivers must sign a waiver. Any driver under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign for them.
  18. All youth must be able to operate the tractor to the satisfaction of the sled operator,and track official. This includes operation of the clutch and steering. Supervisor may help with gear selection and shifter lock.
  19. Only one driver per tractor per class
  20. Tractors meeting safety requirements for which there is no class may be allowed to run in an exibition class.  A hook fee will be determined by track official. ( Kevin / Nevin )
  21. No part of the tractor may interfere with the sled at any time.
  22. All tractors must be equipped with some sort of wheelie bar setup. This device must have wheels with a minimum diameter of 5 inches and 1 inch in width or pads at least 1"X4".  Device must be no less than 5 inches behind rear most point of tire and no more than 5 inches off the ground. Device must be strong enough to support the weight of the tractor when jacked up.  The device must not interfere with the chain.
  23.  Drawbar must be stationary in all directions and have a 1 3/4" minimum diameter hole.
  24. All tractors must be equipped with working brakes, fenders, hood and grille. All drive componets must be properly shielded. 
  25. Puller will be determined out of bounds and disqualified when any part of the tractor touches down on or outside of the line. After the full pull line is crossed there is no out of bounds.
  26. All classes will be weighed with the tractor, driver, and helmet (if required).
  27. All weights must be secured and cannot be more than 1" behind rear tires, above the steering wheel and must not be movable. (Driver not included) 
  28. Any weight or other parts that fall off of tractor during pull (between flags) will result in disqualification.
  29. Drivers are responsible for weighing and having their RPM's set before the class begins. Engine speed must be controlled by a lever or foot pedal and no bypass system is allowed. All ungoverned throttles must return to an idle when released (Deadmans Throttle)
  30. No Nitrous Oxide, Nitromethane or pressurized fuel tanks in any class. No turbos, superchargers, or blowers in any class.
  31. Seat must have a 3" high vertical back. The 3" will be measured from the mounting plate.
  32. All drivers must remain seated during pull and have one hand on the steering wheel at all times.
  33. Drivers will have a second chance line of 35'. Driver must stop before 35' mark to be able to come back and change gears or weights.
  34. Two attempts will be given to each driver except in a pull-off.
  35. The first driver in each class will be a test puller. He/she will have the opportunity to keep the hook or drop to 3rd or last. If the test puller goes out of bounds on their first pull they will be disqualified.
  36. If a driver has mechanical problems they may drop to the end of the class. If you are the last puller in the class you will have three minutes.
  37. A full pull is determined when the front of the sled crosses the full pull line.
  38. PUT UP OR SHUT UP; Anyone in any class may protest a tractor in the same class for a fee of $100.00. The person that is protesting will also have their tractor tore down. It will be the tractor Owner's responsibility to prove the tractor legal to 3 designated track officials only. This tear down will take place in a supervised location and the only people there will be the 3 track officials and the tractor owner. the findings will be reported to the protestor. The person protesting must put up $100.00 cash. If the tractor is found to be illegal the protestor will get their money back and the tractor will be disqualified and banned until proven legal. When a tractor is found to be illegal the following tracks will be notified and the tractor will not be able to pull until proven legal at one of the tracks.  If the tractor is found to be legal the owner will keep the protest fee.  Anyone refusing to be tore down will be disqualified and banned until proven legal to track officials.  All teardowns will be conducted after the pull is over.  Fuel, hitch height, weight, and RPM's are free.

  40. THE YOUTH CANNOT MOVE UP AND PULL IN ADULT CLASS.
  41. YOUTH AGE RANGE WILL BE 8 TO 15

Stock 0-14 Singles and Twins

There is a youth and adult class. All rules apply for both

  1. Tractor must be stock appearing and use standard engine or equivelant replacement.
  2. Tractor must have OEM appearing drive train EX; No cub rears in John Deere, Wheel Horse, Sears, or Massey Ferguson.
  3. 23X10.50X12. 8X15 or 8X16 on Speedex, Economy, Or Case
  4. Tires may be resurfaced to original shape and pitch. No angling rear of bar. Any tires in question will be checked with a gauge.
  5. Must use stock engine componets.
  6. Must use cast camshaft with max lift of .330 and no valve lash.
  7. Must use stock valve size 1.380 or smaller for intake and exhaust in Kohler engines. Valves must remain in stock location.
  8. May use aftermarket rod of same length stock stroke
  9. Piston can pop out but no more than 30 thousandths. (0.00 - .030 legal)  (.031 DQ) 
  10. Must use stock OEM style ignition.
  11. Must use OEM head. No welding or modifications. Must maintain original thickness except for re-surfacing. OEM head gaskets only (.050" thickness when compressed) No aftermarket heads. 
  12. No more than .030 overbore
  13. Carb throttle bore max of 1.200" and venturi max of 1.000". No spacers or velocity stacks. No bottom adjusts on Kohlers. NO moved throttle shafts. NO aftermarket fuel pumps, regulators, or gauges. Must run air cleaner
  14. Must run OEM style flywheel. No cutting, drilling, welding or adding weight to flywheel. No rotating counter weight on opposite end of crankshaft. May have OEM Pulley or PTO
  15. Must have OEM deck height.
  16. All overhead engines must use OEM valve train components.
  17. 6,8, or 10" front wheels allowed. Aftermarket 3-rib tires are allowed
  18. 4000 RPM Limit ZERO Tolerance track tachometer will be used to check. Track official will operate throttle.
  19. Must have working governor.
  20. Front ends may not be altered in any way ex;No drop spindles, tube axles.
  21. PTO is not mandatory.
  22. May use straight pipe exhaust.
  23. May use foot throttle.
  24. 10 inch max hitch height.
  25. Headstraps are recommend and allowed but not required
  26. Gasoline only. Race gas will be permitted.  No nitro-methane or alcohol.
  27. Tractor must retain original stance and wheel base
  28. Weights may not be more than 7 feet forward from the center of the rear axle,and no more than 5' in width
  29. Bar tires or turf tires only. No dual purpose or ATV tires.

Stock 20-25 HP and Twins

  1. Tractor must be stock appearing and use standard engine or equivelant replacement.
  2. Tractor must have OEM appearing drive train EX; No cub rears in John Deere, Wheel Horse, Sears, or Massey Ferguson.
  3. 26X12X12 Max tire size.
  4. Bar tires or turf tires only. No dual purpose or ATV tires.
  5. Tires may be resurfaced to original shape and pitch. No angling rear of bar.
  6. 12 inch max hitch height.
  7. Piston cannot be higher than zero deck.
  8. No aftermarket fuel pumps
  9. Must have cast camshaft (No Steel) All overhead valve engines must use OEM valve train components. Max valve lift .345 for solid lifters and .360 for hydraulic lifters.
  10. 4000 RPM Limit ZERO Tolerance track tachometer will be used to check. Track official will operate throttle.
  11. Must have working governor.
  12. Front ends may not be altered in any way ex; drop spindles, tube axles.
  13. PTO is not mandatory.
  14. May use straight pipe exhaust.
  15. May use foot throttle
  16. Must have reverse gear unless not original equipment.
  17. Pump gas only.
  18. Tractor must retain original stance and wheel base
  19. Weights may not be more than 7 feet forward from the center of the rear axle,or more than 5' in width.

14HP Stock Altered

All contestants must be at least 16 years old

  1. Tractor must have a fire extinguisher
  2. 23X10.50X12 Max tire size.
  3. No cut tires,or Gator tires. Bar or turf only.
  4. Tires may be resurfaced to original shape and pitch. No angling rear of bar.
  5. 14HP factory blocks or smaller. No aftermarket blocks
  6. NO RPM limit
  7. May use stock points and condensor or chevy points only
  8. May use look alike cylinder heads,or billet head.
  9. May use steel crank but must be stock stroke.
  10. May use any cam, connecting rod, and valves
  11. Max bore of .060"
  12. No grinding, welding or any modifications to block at carb mounting studs.
  13. Engine must have headstrap.
  14. No carb spacers, wedges, or stand off tubes.
  15. A velocity stack is allowed.
  16. No slide type carbs, butterfly type only.
  17. Max venturi 1.200"
  18. Tractor must have a working kill switch
  19. Pump gas,or racing fuel only, no alcohol or nitromethane.
  20. Tractor must have a Steel or alluminum flywheel
  21. Weights may not be more than 7 feet forward from center or rear axle,or no more than 5' in width.
  22. Wheel base may not be altered from stock.
  23. Front wheels may be no smaller than 6"
  24. Hitch height will be 10"
  25. No dual ignitions
  26. One spark plug only in stock location
  27. Due to safety issues tractor must have a shield over the flywheel, starter and clutch. The shield must consist of 1/8 inch steel or 3/16 inch aluminum. Stock shield may be reinforced to meet these specs. Shields must be fastened top and bottom.

16HP Stock Altered

All contestants must be at least 16 years old

  1. Tractor must have a fire extinguisher.
  2. 23X10.50X12 Max tire size.
  3. Cut tires are allowed.
  4. Max bore of .060 over.
  5. No dual ignitions.
  6. One spark plug only in stock location.
  7. No grinding, welding or any modifications to block at carb mounting studs.
  8. Engine must have headstrap.
  9. May use steel crank but must be stock stroke.
  10. No carb spacers, wedges, or stand off tubes.
  11. A velocity stack is allowed.
  12. No slide type carbs, butterfly type only.
  13. Max venturi 1.200"
  14. Tractor must have a working kill switch
  15. Pump gas,racing fuel,or alcohol allowed.
  16. Tractor must have a Steel or alluminum flywheel
  17. Weights may not be more than 7 feet forward from center of rear axle,or more than 5' in width.
  18. Wheel base may be altered from stock,but no more than NQS rules allow.( 54" or 56" )
  19. Front wheels may be no smaller than 6"
  20. Hitch height will be 10"
  21. May use recast or billet head. 
  22. Due to safety issues tractor must have a shield over the flywheel, starter and clutch. The shield must consist of 1/8 inch steel or 3/16 inch aluminum. Stock shield may be reinforced to meet these specs. Shields must be fastened top and bottom.

 

Pro Stock 

All drivers must be at least 16 years.

We will be using NQS Pro stock rules

  1. Tractor must have fire extinguisher.
  2. 13" hitch height
  3. ALL DRIVERS MUST WEAR FIRE SUIT.
  4.  

Diesel Stock class.

  1. Engine will be no more than 3 cylinders.
  2. May be liquid or air cooled.
  3. Engine block must have casting model and serial numbers visible and not ground off.
  4. Naturally aspirated engines can be no more than 75 cubic inches (1230cc).  Turbo-charged engines can be no more than 50 cubic inches (820cc) Single turbo only. No motorcycle or automotive engines.
  5. No water injection or intercoolers allowed.
  6. 3600 RPM limit.
  7. Engine must use OEM intake and exhaust manifolds.
  8. No Porting. No billet heads. No overhead cams.
  9. No injector pump modifications allowed.  No Billet injector pumps. Must run OEM style injection system for engine being used.
  10. Exhaust must discharge vertically unless using factory muffler.
  11. Electric fuel supply pumps are permitted.
  12. Diesel fuel only. No propane, nitrous, gasoline or alcohol will be permitted.
  13. Only stock frames with full hood, grille, and side shields will be permitted. No tube frames. Chassis may be modified to accept the engine.
  14. Must use lawn mower rear end/transaxle. No cut down automotive rear ends.
  15. 13 inch hitch height
  16. 26x12x12 tires max. Tires may be sharpened but no V-cuts or pro cut tires. Vogel VM TT tires are allowed
  17. 7 feet from center of rear axle to front most portion of weights.
  18. 1100lbs and 1150lbs weight classes.

Compact Diesel Pro Stock Class Rules

(1) Engine will be no more than 3 cylinders. May be liquid or air cooled. Ag or industrial engines only. No automotive or motorcycle engines. 

(2) Engine will be no more than 75 cubic inches

(3) Water injection will be allowed.

(4) Engine modifications are permitted = Rods, Pistons, Cam, Fuel system.

(5)Head work is permitted on stock heads. No Billet heads. No overhead cams.

(6) Injector and injector pump modifications allowed. No Billet injector pumps.

(6a) Must be original style injector pump for the particular engine being used. No electronic or common rail systems.

(7) Turbo charging is permitted, but limited to one turbo only.

Turbo will be fitted with a shut down guillotine on the compressor inlet side of the

turbo. Exhaust “L” of turbo must have minimum of 5/16 cross in elbow with exhaust to

discharge vertically

(8) Electric fuel supply pump is permitted with positive power wire to have disconnect

at rear of tractor

9) No propane or nitrous of any kind will be permitted.

(10)Stock frames or stock appearing frame rails with full hood, grill and side shields

will be permitted- No tube frames. Chassis may be modified to accept engine. Must be recognizable as a modern production tractor. Hood and grille can be of different make than chassis.

(11) Must use a lawn mower rear end / transaxle. No cut down automotive rear ends or

Panzers

(12) Full metal side shields to cover engine area (minimum 16 gauge)

(13) Must run 5/16” cable around oil pan over top of valve cover in a complete circle

connected with cable clamps

(14) Must run steel flywheel and front engine pulleys should also be billet steel or aluminum,

no stanped steel, cast iron or cast aluminum pulleys.

(15) Clutch assembly and fly wheel must be surrounded 360 degrees with 1/8” metal or

3/8” aluminum

(16) 56” wheel base max.

(17) 7 feet from center of rear axle to front most portion of weights

(18) 13” hitch height.

(19) 26” x 12 x 12 tires max.

(20) 1100Ibs. 1150lbs Weight classes.

(21) Dead man throttle required.

(22) Kill switch device mounted on rear of tractor must disconnect power to electric

fuel pump along with activating turbo guillotine

(23) Min. of 1 lbs fire extinguisher required.

(24) Wheelie bars are required, same specifications as all other classes.

(25) Engine block must have factory casting model and serial numbers, not ground off

(26) Full faced helmet required

(27) Engine must have OEM intake manifolds and exhaust manifolds, polishing is permitted


Stock 16 HP

(1) Refer to the stock 20-25 HP and Twin class rules, will be same for this class.
